The worst experience with UPS

I’m not really the kind of girl that would complain like this on my blog, but this time I felt like I needed to, because I had the worst experience using UPS. Here goes the story.

One day I was laying bored in my bed checking up my Facebook when I saw that the guys at Onepiece where doing Facebook Live / spin the wheel giveaway. I decided to try my luck, because, why not right? I was literally the last winner and got 100% off on their site. I was so happy because for so long I wanted something from their site and the prices were too high, tha getting something from them was just a little dream. This is what I got if you are wondering.

 

Anyways, I got what I wanted, shipping ended up being free and I was happy… I paid nothing and I got what I wanted, couldn’t believe my luck. My order was shipped after a few days I got an UPS call asking my for my ID and some other info (DHL does the same aswell) and they told me your package is arriving tomorrow and it will be delivered the next day. I said Ok and hung up.

That next day arrived and with that a very early phone call telling me I needed to pay aroud $30 so they could deliver my package. This was not any duties or taxes, that if I would have had to pay them, I wouldn’t even complain about it. But this was just an illegal storage fee UPS and aparently also Fedex have in my country so they can make extra money out of it. Somehow I found about it on the internet and once I got the call I said I wasn’t going to pay that becasue it was illegal.

After a lot of phone calls with them, with a terrible costumer service, more emails from a very angry me, and after believing that they would contact Onepiece (which they never did btw) and ask them if they were going to pay for that fee, I had enough and made a complaint to INDECOPI ( National Institute for the Protection of the Consumer and Copyright). The same day they call me to ask about it and pass it thru, a few hours later, UPS called and told me, that for this time, they would make an exception but next time I would need to pay. I waited 2 weeks for it to be delivered to me (as if I used the national postal service) and had a lot of headaches and very bad moments thanks to UPS.

Sad thing is, that this is what they do, and every one of us needs to end up making complaints to not end up paying an “illegal” fee.

Luego de ganarme un 100% de descuento en Onepiece (he querido uno de sus onesies desde hace años pero por sus precios siempre fueron un sueño) no pude contener mi felicidad y lo aproveché. Estaba feliz porque aparte de que lo que compré, que es esto, me estaba saliendo gratis, el shipping también. Todo gratis! ¿A quién no le gusta eso? Compré, esperé que lo shippearan y unos días después, recibí una llamada de UPS preguntándome ciertos datos, como siempre hacen en DHL cuando me envían algo con ellos y colgué. Por alguna razón, me decidí a investigar y descubrí que con UPS y Fedex, siempre tienes que pagar un ilegal costo de almacenaje (algo que NUNCA he pagado con DHL).

 

Llegó mi paquete y comenzó la batalla. Llamadas de tiene que pagar para recibir su paquete, llamadas para que “contacten al proveedor” (algo que nunca hacen) para ver si ellos cubren ese gasto, llamadas de mínimo envíenme la factura para estar segura de lo que estar pretendiendo cobrarme. Correos normales, correos monstruosos y nada. Pues me cansé y luego de más investigación para evitar este pagó, hice una queja al INDECOPI (Instituto Nacional de Defensa de la Competencia y de la Protección de la Propiedad Intelectual). A penas fue recibida para ser atendida y tras una larga llamada, contándoles la pésima experiencia que había tenido, me dijeron que estaba siendo ingresada y que cualquier cosa contactara a la abogada del caso. No les miento, dos horas después, si no fueron menos, me llaman de UPS a decirme que por esta vez, harán una excepción y me entregarán mi pedido sin tener que pagar su costo de almacenaje, pero que la próxima vez si. Solo me dedique a decirles, no se preocupen que una próxima vez no habrá. 

 

Lo más triste es que tienes que llegar a presentar quejas para que no te cobren este costo ilegal. ¿Han tenido una experiencia así de mala con ellos? Déjenmelo saber en los comentarios.
